M.M. Marshall of the nearby St. John's Episcopal Church administered to the sick and dying at the hospital, and officiated at the Christian burial of each soldier which the Episcopal Church provided. The names, ranks, addresses and times of death of each soldier are recorded in the official records of the church. ============= transcribed by Sandy for: NCVance: Vance County History and Genealogy http://home.comcast.net/~teylu/ncvance/ (Note: Not affiliated with NCGenWeb, Inc.) -------------
