Subject: subway galactose-free info
Dear Sarah:
Your letter about your son and the "Parents of Galactosemic
Children" conference was forwarded to me. I think you will
find
that there are many menu items at SUBWAY that do not contain
galactose. You can view all our current product
ingredients at
http://www.subway.com just click on "nutrition" and then "US
Product Ingredients". I have also attached a document that tells
you "How to build a galactose-free sandwich" please let me know if
you have any trouble opening this document up. I will
send your additional request of coupons and food samples to one of our
Public and Community Relations Coordinator, Chris
Kan (ext. 1771). I hope this information is helpful and please do not
hesitate to contact me should you have further questions -
good luck with the conference.
Sincerely,
Lanette Roulier, RD

*Please see note below
regarding this list!
HOW TO BUILD A *GALACTOSE-FREE SANDWICH AT SUBWAY®:
Start with one of SUBWAY®'S galactose-free fresh baked breads, which
include:

* Sesame Italian
Pick from the following type of galactose-free sandwiches:
* Veggie Delite®
* Turkey Breast
* Ham
* Roast Beef
* Subway® Club
* Roasted Chicken Breast*
* Tuna
* Cold Cut TrioTM
* Horseradish Roast Beef
* Steak (with NO cheese)
Top with your choice of the following galactose-free toppings:
* Lettuce
* Tomato
* Onions
* Peppers
* Olives
* Pickles
* Jalepenos
* Banana Peppers
* Pepperoncini
* Honey Mustard Sauce
* Horseradish Sauce
* Light Mayonnaise
* Mustard
* Olive Oil
* Southwest Sauce

*Roasted Chicken breast patty is dairy-free. However chicken
strips, which
are used on salads and on some local sandwiches, may contain dairy.
When
ordering a sandwich or salad with chicken make sure to request the chicken
patty.
The above information has been based on current information provided by
SUBWAY food manufacturers. There may be variations in ingredients due
to
use of alternate suppliers and product formula changes.

*A NOTE about Subway: Just because Subway says that the above
items are galactose-free does not mean that they are galactose-free. For example, as most of us are aware,
tomatoes DO contain galactose. There are probably other items on this list that
also contain galactose as well. My guess is that Subway means the items listed
above are dairy-free or lactose free. Please check with your own Subway and use
your own judgement when using such lists.
