Bibliography

This is a list of books about business and/or technical writing that I have collected during my research on the subject. It doesn't include shorter articles and reports, which are far more numerous. Obviously, I haven't read them all, and many, of course, are part of the problem, rather than the solution. I have marked with an asterisk those which I have looked at carefully and which I think are particularly useful. You can also find a large list of books on technical writing at Amazon.com.

I have added to this list a few books that don't deal with writing as such, but I regard them as models of clear technical writing.

If you want to read articles about business and technical writing, there are several journals devoted to the subject, including the Journal of Technical Writing and Communication, IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication, Technical Communication, Journal of Business Communication, Industrial Communications, Journal of the American Society of Information Science, and the British Information Design Journal.

Also, be sure to check out the many On-Line Resources for Writers.
