Correction: It has been brought to the attention of the editor
that incorrect information was posted in response to an earlier
question. After all of these years we would like to set the record
straight:
Matt
Kuhn was the original guitarist for Bobby & the Believers. Dennis
Mroz was the original guitarist for the predecessor band Epilog.
Our apologies to Matt.

Your
lighting expert, DAVE does an excellent job in bringing alive your
performances. His real name is DISCO DAVE, the hot body from the
old HAMMER JACKS days. I understand he really keeps in shape by
curling COORS LIGHTS when not busy fighting off the honeys.

It is a trend as you wrote in your news on the Rumblefish cancellations.
I have a hard time finding kids that I teach and have taught and
now in high school showing any interest in hearing live music. "It
doesn't sound like the record" "They play songs I don't
know (orginals)" "They don't play rap (or hip-hop, or
heavy metal or whatever). The real scary part is where are the next
bands going to come from? I have students with talent and interest,
but no place to play. When we were teens, we could put together
a "garage" band and play at the local CYO or teen center.
Now, the DJ's, with the right music mix and less cost, are moving
in to these starting points for young bands. Playing "Louie,
Louie" in front of a bunch of 14 year old girls in a school
gym is how many of today's musicians cut their teeth. This experience
is no longer available. How will we get the next local rockers?
The problem is compounded by the popularity of karaoke and the advance
of sampling keyboards (Why hire a horn section when the Korg can
cover all 3 parts?). I understand that this trend is not just in
the pop area, but also in the blues and jazz circles. I hope this
trend will change as this generation matures, but I can't see it
happening any time soon.
Thanks for hearing me out. Great looking page, by the way.

Who are original members?
Re:
The Believers were formed from the Top-40 band called "Epilog"
which was started in 1976. At that time, the band consisted of:
Bobby Jackson - vocals, Carmen Sorrentino - drums, Dennis Mroz -
Guitar, Paul Beardmore - Bass, Randy Neilson - keys, and Blake Neilson
- sound. In 1981, the band picked up 4 horn players, changed the
name to Bobby & the Believers, and begun to specialize in Motown
Music. Only two members have been in for the entire time; Randy
& Blake Neilson. However, several original members of the horn
section have left and since come back; Jeff Price, Brad Anderson,
and Mike Mileski.
