The Werewolf
The tall lanky man runs through the side streets of the main city, looking for escape. He can feel it coming, sneaking ever closer to him despite his running through the darkness. With a grunt, the man puts on a burst of speed and shoots out of the city and into the nearby woods. However, there is no escape from this scourge. Shooting through the underbrush, he finds himself in a clearing. Looking up into the night's sky, he shakes his fist at his pursuer, the thing that cannot leave him alone: the full moon. As he shakes his fist, it slowly grows fur. His arms grow longer, his torso twists as the changes take place. He stares up at the sky and lets loose a howl as he, the Werewolf of Quel-Thalas, goes out in search of prey.

However, becoming a Werewolf is not a curse in Diablo II, it is a skill to be wielded. In Werewolf form, a Druid can become faster and more precise. He deals out flurries of blows to knock down approaching attackers and then races forward to confront the next group. An offensive Juggernaut, a Werewolf can bat down anything that approaches him with the possible exception of the Physical Immune denizens of Hell.

Due to the huge increases in damage that it can wield through the use of the Fury skill, a Werewolf can deal out a lot of damage in a very small number of blows. However, Werewolves also gain a large increase in their speed thanks to Fury's Zeal-like attack speed and the additional attack speed increase from the Werewolf skill. In addition, a well-designed Werewolf will enjoy a huge Attack Rating boon, a lightning-fast run/walk speed and a huge amount of life leech.
