The story continues...meet Claude
We call him Claude, for obvious reasons. I plan to post pictures periodically to chart his growth.

he stands about two inches from nose to toes!

Big Newt never complained about his lonely environment, but I felt he deserved a companion. So I brought home the tiniest African Clawed Frog to keep himcompany.

I love the Firebelly Toads, but they like live crickets at each meal. To make feeding less of a chore, I decided on the aquatic African Clawed Frog who seems to eat just about anything, including myfingers!

Claude and Big Newt shared a small 5 gallon tank at first. After only five months, it was clear that Big Newt had met his match. Experience is a great teacher, so rather than leave things to chance, I have decided to move Big Newt to his own home before he becomes dinner for Claude! They seemed pretty happy together, but experienced herpetologists say it is a bad idea to keep the two in the same tank.

Anyone who has ever raised an ACF knows how this story goes. These guys need lots of room to grow big and happy. So Claude moved into his new 20 gallon tank where he had plenty of room to stretch his legs...but not for long.
