We
set sail
once again on Princess Cruise's Crown Princess but not before sailing on her
sister, Ruby. On January 9th, 2009 we arrived at the Hampton Inn in Ft.
Lauderdale for a pre-night stay before boarding Ruby Princess on Saturday,
January 10, 2009. We had a wonderful stateroom with balcony on Carib
deck overlooking the open decks below. Our week long cruise aboard Ruby
Princess was one of the very best cruises we have ever taken. The nearly
brand new ship (we were on the 9th sailing) was stunning in her decor, service
and entertainment. Oh, and the food, was extraordinary. Following
our week long adventure on Ruby we jumped ship for an old friend, Ruby's
sister, Crown Princess. Although not as exciting as Ruby we none the
less managed to have a great time. The weather was a little off.
We missed one port call, Princess Cay, due to rough seas. We had a grand
two weeks, first to the Western Caribbean and the then to the Eastern Caribbean.
We met some nice people, sailed to some interesting ports and had an overall
wonderful time.
Where are we going next? We are returning to San Juan,
Puerto Rico where we set sail on the Caribbean Princess. We are doing
back to back seven day sailings which will take us to ten ports of call . . .
some familiar and a couple new ones.
Read our review of both cruises HERE.

What's
New & HOT
Speed and Drivability
Saab 93 |
After a long, hard search for our first top
down experience we settled on the Saab 93 convertible. We looked at the BMW, Mercedes and Volvo but none could
compare with the beauty, speed and handling of the Saab 93 turbo.
Not a new one (2002)
but a real beauty. We bought it from a local dealer this early summer and have had
nothing but a real ball with it. We've had it to the beach, oh yea, and to the lakes
and all over. Bob even had it up to 110 mph (it will do more). Pictured above
with Bob is his father Frank on their way to the health club.
Portsmouth High School
40th
Reunion
Class of 1965 |
 |
Miles to go and promises to keep. Not
terribly original but it is the class motto, Portsmouth High School's class of 1965.
When Bob, along with wife Hellen, attended his class reunion (Hellen graduated
Eliot HS) October 15 he had no idea if any of his old chums would be there. Well,
many were, like Howie Knight and Judy Brian Fracher, author of Hey
Lady.
The reunion was held
at the Family Center, Loyal Order of Moose in Portsmouth. The catered affair with a
cash bar and live band set off this reunion from past reunions. It was a fun time
and it was terrific to see old high school friends. Oh yes, we arrived early and
stayed late.
