We had a great RAGBRAI this year with a contingent of 8 Iguanas.  Kurt, Joyce, and Choo-Choo, flew into Omaha and took the shuttle up to our starting point in LeMars.  Kim and I drove the sag and equipment up from Atlanta. "Bikeshop" Bill drove up separately because of a family reunion at the end of the week, and Old timer Iguana, "Wild Bill" and his friend and newest Iguana, Debra drove over from South Bend, Indiana to join us.

We met Wild Bill and Debra in Guttenburg Saturday morning.  I get a hug from Debra as Wild Bill transfers luggage to the sag trailer.  Debra was the most important member of our RAGBRAI team, as she was our driver for the week.  THANK YOU, DEBRA!

We stop in Amana for breakfast on our way across Iowa.  John and Gale turned us on to this place last year for RAGBRAI XXXII.  It was a little out of our way, but serves up a fantastic breakfast that cannot be described in words.  You'll just have to join us next year and find out for yourself!

The Amana Colonies were settled in the mid-1800's by a group of German-speaking European settlers who belonged to a religious group known as the Community of True Inspiration.  It is a self-sufficient commune, growing their own food and raising their own livestock.
