Kurt and I headed west to explore new territory during the week of Spring Break this year.  
Anxious to get there, we drove 16 hours straight through to San Antonio.


Downtown San Antonio.  We stayed at the downtown La Quinta which was just out of the photo on the bottom right.


Day 1 - Sunday.  We walked the Riverwalk along the San Antonio River that winds through downtown.  At one time, they considered covering the river and turning it into a culvert, but smarter heads prevailed and they turned it into a tourist recreation center.  It starts at River Center Mall.

One way to see the river is to take one of the dozen or so boats.  We passed on that, though.
