Our second stop on our summer vacation was Toronto Canada. After a long drive from Chicago, made very long by road construction all through Michigan, we spent two days over the weekend in Toronto. Time to see the old Moore homestead in Rexdale and then off to the beach and downtown Toronto for a lot of walking. Time spent at a spicy food festival and having a beer on the waterfront, then dinner on the sidewalk in Old Toronto on Front Street at a great place called Spring Roll. Off to the CN tower and back to the hotel for some sleep. The next day was spent on the beautiful Toronto Island. Julie and I went biking while Steve and John had fun at a wakeboarding festival, and Kristina beached it for the second day. After our bike ride Kristina talked me into canoeing for an hour, we even went out into the harbor for part of the ride. Back into Toronto to see the China town (much better than Chicago’s and maybe and equal to San Francisco’s). We drove to Cabbage Town and India Town and then headed back to the hotel for dinner at a great Indian place across from the hotel. We found Toronto to be a wonderfully clean and diverse city, well worth a visit. Next time we bring the bikes to bike the vast array of bike trials along the waterfront.
