Music is not just reading notes and playing an instrument. There is music inside all of us that makes us want to shout and jump and dance. It is innate in all of us to find a way to express these longings. To sing and move helps us find our creativity, our creativity gives us our desire to learn. By helping children express their creative impulses we are teaching them good learning skills as well as keeping them excited about learning through music.

Make learning about music fun:

Listening to the world around us.

Music is all around us. Have you ever listened to rain falling? the hum of traffic? footsteps as they grow closer to us? farther from us? These everyday sounds are a type of music, full of rhythms, beats and melodies. Help your children "tune in to the world around them" and listen for everyday music.

Create your own music.

Do you know what the best musical instrument is? YOU! Teach your children to clap, stomp, snap their fingers and use their voices to create music.
