Some links we think are worth following:

George Schreyer's Geologically Improbable Railroad Without a doubt George's site is one of the best online sources for good technical information. If you visit his site once, you'll visit it a thousand times... George has moved into larger live steam scales now (7.5") but his site remains online as a great source for everyone to use.

Largescale Online Is basically the first large scale train site the internet had. It's the daddy of them all and is considered the serious of serious train sites. It has an absolutely massive knowledge database that nobody else can come close to. If you need help with anything relating to your trains or garden, it's in there. At the moment the site requires paid membership but in my opinion is well worth the fee. A fee which you can recover in savings after making one or two small purchases through their online store.

Mac McCalla If you guys don't know Mac yet, shame on you! Mac is one of those guys that's easy to get along with, fun to talk to, a great guy and the one person considered to be our fearless leader in the world of weathering. If you only like fresh out of the box products, Don't click on the link to his web site. The images you see will make your pocket book scream in terror. If on the other hand, you really like realistic looking rolling stock, this is the man you want to learn from. He does clinics at all the main shows and has videos available through Badger Airbrush on how to work his magic.

My Largescale My Largescale is one of the higher traffic sites these days so make sure you have plenty of time to read all the messages that get posted from day to day. It seems to grow more and more on a daily basis so stop by and check it out often.

Largescale Central Another large scale site for us strange train folks to frequent. It doesn't have a large amount of traffic but it's a pretty good site to hang out at.

Garden Railways Magazine The main publication for the large scale folks. It's focus is on large scale trains but includes a lot of areas covering the hobbies prime setting, the garden. Yes, I'm a gardener at heart but with a train running through it!

Ozark Miniatures Whether or not your into scratch building your own equipment or just kit bashing something you have, Ozark has some of the best detail parts! This is a great mom and pop shop that makes just about anything you'll need to make your project come to life.

Aristo Craft Trains I'll go out on a limb and say their products are by far the best on the market. I have little or no trouble with Aristo Craft stuff but when I do need help they are a phone call away. Their site has a very good forum where you can even talk directly to Mr. Lewis Polk, the owner. The customer is always #1 there.

USA Trains In my opinion, USA is right up there close to Aristo on overall quality. They have some very nice engine's on the market these days. Their web site is always a little behind the times but you can see some of their cool stuff none the less.

Bachmann You should know these guys from the smaller scales. They have a large scale line that is cheap enough to allow most people to give G scale a test drive without getting a second mortgage. They also have a few engines that are not so cheap but are an absolute must have, the Shay being one that comes to mind first.

LGB Lehmann-Gross-Bahn, probably the best know company for large scale but I only have one of their engines. I don't think they are best, in fact I think far from it but they do sport the higher price tags and they have a strong following of customers here in the United States.

Scale Rails Online Is one of the newer online train forums but has already grown into a substantial source of great information. It's forums cover all scales equally including hard to find scales such as Lego trains. It's definitely a place where you can find a subject interesting enough to keep your attention.

Some non train related links:

Jon Foster's Online Photo Albums - #1 & #2 I've had a few requests for the link to my online photo albums so here they are. The pictures are of various things (including a few train shots).

Jon Foster's Online Resume Site This is a link to my online resume. The site will be updated on a regular basis. Please pass the link along to anyone who you think may be interested in me too.

Jon Foster's Genealogy Site This is a link to my genealogy web site. It's updated as I find information that can be verified. I use Family Tree Maker 2006 so anyone who wants a copy of the data can have it in either the FTW or standard GEDCOM formats.
