DIRECTIONS and MAPS

LAUNCH SITES:
Cross Keys Field: Starting in August, 2006 SoJARS launches will be held at a field located at the corner of Glassboro-Cross Keys and Fries Mill Roads in Cross Keys, NJ. This is a much larger field than the one at the college, and we are still carefully determining the safe motor limit here.
For now, we will fly up to G motors here, but as we become more familiar with the size of the field, prevailing winds, etc., this might change to include more powerful motors.

Gloucester County College: This field is good for Low to Low-Mid power (1/2 A - E). Enter through the main entrance and park in the large lot to the right, near the Baseball field, next to the Gardens.

Below is a map of the area. Instructions on how to get there are as follows:

From Camden(Rt-130): Take Rt-130 South to the Brooklawn circle. Get off, on Broadway St (left of the Merit station). Take Broadway to Rt-47, Delsea Dr. Follow Delsea drive down past New Sharon Township, to the former Wawa Market (you will see the New Sharon Fire Department just before.). Take the right at the light around the back of Wawa, and a left on Tanyard Rd. Follow Tanyard Rd, down past Gloucester County Technical school on the left, and further past the Gloucester County College, also on the left.

From I-295:Take I-295 to Rt-42 South. Travel Rt-42 South to Rt-55 South exit and Enter onto Rt-55. Travel 4 miles to the second exit, for 47 North, towards Woodbury. Go to the first light and turn Left onto Bank Bridge Road. Continue 1 mile to the next light and turn Left onto Tanyard Road. On the left you will pass the Junior High School, then the Tech School, then you’ll see Gloucester County College on the Left.

From Philly(76): Take Rt 76 over the Ben Franklin Bridge, and get on Rt 42 south. Take 42 south to Rt 55 west. Follow Rt 55 to Washington Township (landfill on left), and exit Northbound onto Rt 47. Follow Rt 47 to the first light and take the left. Follow down to the next light to Tanyard Rd, and take another left. Follow past Gloucester Technical School, to Gloucester County College.

SoJARS FARM Launch Site: Fall and Winter launches are often held on a farm south of
Swedesboro, N.J. where we can launch more powerful rockets (up to "G" motors).

Instructions on how to get there are as follows: Refer to the maps for further information.

From 295 (Heading South) Take 295 to exit 10.  Go left, heading east on Center Square Road (according to Yahoo maps, if coming from the south you'd go right onto Center Square Rd). Go until you cross a light, then a 4-way stop sight, and a rail road track (about 2.5 miles). You'll come to dead end where you can go left or two rights.  Take the wider/farther right onto Swedesboro/Woodstown Road (605).  After about 1/2 mile you will go under the turnpike, then go another 2-3 miles to the third crossroad, Porches Mill Road. Turn left onto Porches Mill road.  You'll see a house on the right and a dirt road on the left.  This dirt road leads into the middle of the fields and is where you should turn and park.  Park off to the side of this road to allow cars to pass.

From Mantua, Woodbury or Mullica Hill (heading south): Take route 45 south through Mullica Hill. Bear right continue south on 45. Approximately 5 miles down the road, make a right turn onto Lincoln Road. Proceed approximately one mile on Lincoln which becomes Porches Mill somewhere along the road, to the farm road. Make RIGHT onto farm road.

Directions to Library
From North of Woodbury:
Take 295 South to exit 24A (Rt. 45 South- Woodbury). The ramp merges into Broad Street. Follow Broad Street past Underwood Memorial Hospital on the right. Go about a quarter mile and turn right onto Delaware Street. The library is on the first block on your left. BUT…just before you hit the library, which is set back from the street, is a firehouse on your left. Turn left onto the alley just before the firehouse and park behind the library.

From South of Woodbury:
Take 295 North to the 21-22/(CR-534 JCT)/NATIONAL PK(CR-631 N) exit towards NATIONAL PK/WOODBURY. Go 1/2 mile to Delaware Street. Continue on Delaware Street for 1.4 miles. Library is just before firehouse on your right just before you hit Broad Street/Rt. 45. Turn right into the alley just past the firehouse and parking is behind the library.
