Seattle Indians
1922-1938
The Pacific Coast League Seattle franchise was named the Rainiers from 1919 to 1921, but changed names to the Seattle Indians in 1922.
In 1938 the team changed it name back to the Rainiers where they continued to play in the PCL until 1964.

Seattle
Steelheads
1946In 1946 the new West Coast Negro League formed to expand
professional black baseball out west. The Seattle franchise, the
Steelheads, was actually the barnsortming Harlem
Globetrotters.
Not to be confused with the Harlem
Globetrotters basketball team, they played straight baseball.
Other teams in the League included:
Portland Rosebuds(owned by Jesse Owens), Oakland Larks, San Diego
Tigers, Los Angels White Sox, and San Francisco Sea Lions.
Unfortunately, the only teams that earned money to stay in
business
were Seattle and Oakland.
As best that can be determined, when the
League folded Oakland was in first and Seattle in second.
The
association ended in July of 1946, but the Steelheads played through
September and once again became the Harlem Globetrotters.

His comment, "Can I keep that card", is in
reference to wanting to keep the custom made card
I sent for him to
sign. I have no problems when players do this, in fact I'm quite
honored that
they think that highly of my skills. You can see the
custom index card
below.

Seattle Rainiers
(1919-1921,
1938-1964)
The Seattle Rainiers, were a minor
league baseball team in Seattle that played in the
Pacific Coast League from 1919 though 1968.
For a time the Pacific Coast League was considered a third
Major league.
For a time the Rainers went by the Indians (see above) and later by the Angles.
