Who I am
If there was a poster-child for geeks, I bet I would be it. I met my first computer in 1981 and it was love at first site.
I'll allways miss you, my TRS-80 model III conchita.
Shortly there-after, I discovered gaming... Which prompty turned into a cool (by 1983 standards) low-res graphic adventure game called QUEST. So, here I was all ready to go to college and get a Computer science degree and between the reality of having no money and then marrying the girl of my dreams, working at McDonalds replaced That bachelors degree in the scheme of things.
Where I am
After spending the last six years as Tech Support for a company that went under, I discovered that 20 years had gone by and my 80's computer skills where obsolete. Now, I'm a student at Clark College on the way to a fresh new Associates of Arts in technology degree to combine my experience with 21st century computer skills so I can get back into doing what I love. Specifically, I want to be able to make web pages the right way, that will stand-up to scrutany instead of using Dreamweaver to pretend I'm earning a paycheck.
Funny thing about going back to school at 43, I feel like I'm picking my life up at the I left off... 20 years ago.
Now, if I could only party all night and go to classes in the morning I would be set, heh heh.
