al-Aalam

As near as I can tell, "al-Aalam" is Arabic for "the World." This map was for an Arabian-themed campaign, naturally. I really like this map, although it does have some flaws (the largest being that the hexes are not all the same size and shape -- this was before I figured out how to make perfectly regular hexpaper!). Like a lot of my maps, it is strongly reminiscent of a portion of the real world.

And here's a bonus map! This was meant to be a sort of "player handout" during the campaign. I took the map above, blurred the borders a little to get rid of some of its "hexiness," converted it to sepia tones, gave it a canvas texture, and added a wooden border. It's supposed to look like a "real" map, like one someone living in this world might have access to.
