I love hex maps. They are easy to create and do a pretty good job of visually laying out the important things you need on a map. Did I mention that they are easy to make?
This page is a repository for maps that I have created. Feel free to browse and if you see something you like, go ahead and use it! Click on the thumbnails to see the entire map and (sometimes) a brief description. Most of the maps purposely lack terrain keys and other identifying marks, so if you wish to use them, you'll have more freedom in deciding what exactly you want it to be.
Let's start off with some basics: blank hex maps. Here's the building blocks if you want to make some maps of your own.

And now for some science fiction maps! Firstly, I've got a couple of whole-world maps, using the basic icosahedral template you may be familiar with if you've seen GURPS Space or Traveller. The last map is a hyperspace route map from my current Star Wars campaign.
