CARUSO J

Caruso J

Caruso J is a 1995 16.3+ hand tall black PRE Andalusian.  He was sired by Maestro, a black 16.2h 4th level dressage and exhibition stallion. Caruso J's dam, Farandula II, a bay 16.2h mare, imported from Spain and is a 4th level dressage horse. Caruso J also has Maluso 4 times in his pedigree. Maluso, foaled in 1949 at the Spanish Military Stud, was considered to be the most classic example "Military Type". Maluso is a primary foundation stallion of modern bay lines and most bay and black Andalusians trace their lineage back to him. Caruso J's grandsire is Dejado. Dejado is a beautiful black stallion photographed by Robert Vavra and considered by him to be one of the "Top Ten Most Beautiful" horses in the world. Dejado's grandsire is the black stallion Nostalgico, also a Vavra favorite. Nostalgico is depicted in Vavra's book, Equus. With such a colorful family tree it sad that Caruso J is now a gelding. Cleopatra Jones and CJ Confidence were the only black foals he produced. Click on images to enlarge
