Who
am I?
I am a 39
year old living in Littleton, Colorado, and am working as a Planner for a local government.
I am a transplant to Colorado, as my wife and I moved
here in March 2002 after I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Calpoly San Luis
Obispo with a BS in City
and Regional Planning. I was previously employed as a Planner with Greenwood Village, Colorado, and as a Planner/GIS
for the City of Manitou Springs, Colorado. Prior to my gig with Manitou Springs,
I was a Planning Technician for the City of Atascadero, California.
in SLO.
Previous to my new career I worked
for six years as a lab tech in Berkeley California where I managed a
clinical lab and attended junior college part time. I served five years
in the United States Navy and was assigned to
Beachmaster Unit One, an amphibious
assault team where I was a Petty Officer Third Class. I was responsible
for overseeing beach operations and drove a LARC - an amphibious assault
craft. I was awarded a Meritorious Service Award in 1998 from the San
Diego Chamber of Commerce and the Secretary of the Navy for outstanding
leadership. Check out this cool
Beachmaster Unit One Homepage!
I enjoy mountain biking, mountaineering, hiking,
traveling, and hanging out with my "anonymous" friends. I am married with no kids.
What's New?

- We are dog owners!
Yeah, that's right. We got our first little dog - Baxter the Amazing Rocky Mountain Pug. People say that Pugs are not outdoorsey-type dogs, but let me tell you something, this little dog is tough. This summer Baxter was doing some serious hiking with me, including an unassisted climb of Mt. Elbert, Colorado's highest Peak (14,433 feet). I am working on putting some pictures of his adventures on our Trips Page.
- Jenee bought a new car!
Jenee bought a 2005 Hyundai Accent! She had been driving a piece of crap 1991 Mazada 323 for something like five years now, and she was really due. It's great to have a second car to go on trips, and I'm relieved that I don't have to worry about her car breaking down.
- Jenee and I are homeowners!
We bought a very nice, brand new townhome in Littleton, Colorado, about 15 miles from Denver, and very near the foothills. We live in a PRIMO location right on a fabulous greenway and near the light rail. We have great views all around us. You can see it here.
- Jenee's been doing well too. She works at an upscale salon in the funky Capitol Hill Distric of Denver, and is making great money and having a good time. After working for a year in a horrible "chop shop" in Colorado Springs, and then working for a pretentious salon (where she was treated like crap) in Downtown Denver she is thrilled to be somewhere where she is appreciated, and loves her co-workers. It's nice to see my artistic wife working somewhere that deserves her. (Good riddance pretentious little LODO salon.)
- My brother Tim got married last June, and retired several years ago from his job as a computer analyst/rocket scientist. Now, he and his wife Susan are living in both Colorado Springs, and in a condo high up in the mountains in the town of Dillon, near Breckenridge. He has been spending his days paragliding, mountain biking, climbing, skiing, and generally just living a miserable life. It's nice to be an hour drive from him. We have been spending a lot of quality time together over the last year.Visit his webpage!
- After September 11 everything seems less significant, doesn't it? With patriotism being all the rage right now, I would like to express that I am not merely waving an American flag because it is hip now, but I am a veteran of the armed forces and spent five years serving my county in the United States Navy.
I feel for the troops there, because I was a member of an amphibious team and can appreciate the scope of the situation. To express my pride of having served, I put together a short Navy Scrapbook to describe my Navy experience.
