Christopher Boyer Biography and Civil War Narrative

Christ Boyer was born November 1829 in Bavaria (Germany). He had a brother, Carl, two years his senior.

At the time of the 1860 U.S. Census, Christ was farming in Fountain Township, Fillmore County, Minnesota, near Chatfield. He lived next to his brother, Carl, Carl's wife, Mary, and their 2-month-old daughter.

On February 10, 1862, Christ Boyer enlisted as a Private in Company B of the 5th Minnesota. He served until he was mustered out on March 1, 1865.

In both 1870 and 1880, Christ was living and farming with his brother, Carl, and his family, in Fountain Township, Fillmore County, Minnesota.

In 1900, Christ was living with Carl's son, Fred W. Boyer, and Fred's mother, Wilhelmina (also known as Mary), who was a widow.
