What to Give?

There is one question that comes up at this time of year, "What should I give to ____?" There are some people for whom this question is easy to answer. You are able to find the perfect gift in a matter of seconds. But there are some people for whom it will take until the very last moment before the store closes to decide on just the right item. Many hours and even a lot of gas will be used to purchase one gift. We just want to be able to show someone else that we know them and truly care that they have something meaningful from us. Many people do this because of their great love for someone else.

When I consider the frantic rush and busyness of trying to find just the right gift for someone, I am glad that God knew just what I needed. God willingly gave me the Son to supply just what I needed. Jesus came to walk on this earth, first so I could better know God. He walked a life just as I have from birth to adulthood. Then he gave of himself as a sacrifice for my sins. Jesus did this so I could have a relationship with God, a deep and rich relationship. I have to agree with Paul's words found in 2 Corinthians 9:15 - "Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!" I am not sure that I can ever thank God enough for the most wonderful of Christmas gifts.

It does make me ask, "What gift should I get for God?" God has truly done a mighty work for me, I really think I should do something for God. I know the only thing I can do is give my whole self just as Jesus did for me. Have you thought about what gift you will give to God? Will you give God a gift this Christmas?

Because of God's Love,

Tim
