After several weeks of problems and numerous forms being filed, HPD&MC was finally forced to admit that there was some sort of problem in ICK sector. Repeated power issues and reports of strange noises from recycling vats compelled an initial investigation, during which power to the sector became extremely erratic and contact with the recycling teams was lost. System monitors showed the vats had completely shut down before power was lost, meaning a backlog of first-level recycling material was lying about waiting to be processed. A troubleshooter team was called into action and sent to investigate the investigating team, and were likewise lost. No reqests for new clones of the first team have come in, but neither have any reports from the field. Not knowing what else to do, a second troubleshooter team has been summoned to investigate... well, everything.
Mission Parameters
The new troubleshooting team will be slightly better equipped (read: more weapons) and will be expected to complete the following tasks:
- Determine the cause of the problems in the recycling vats.
- Determine the cause of the power outage.
- Find the original team of investigators.
- Find the team of troubleshooters.
- A small bot was sent with the troubleshooters from R&D, bring it back.
- If possible, bring ICK sector back online.
Reality
In reality, a monster has spawned in one of the recycling vats when some biological material from the clone vats mixed with all sorts of other waste, radioactivity, and who knows what else. In any case, it's there, and its all too happy to have taken over most of the recycling vat area. The vat failure and troubleshooter activity has caused power issues, further complicating the whole mess. In their defense, HPDMC knows NOTHING of this, and is just as much in the dark as the troubleshooters. The Computer hasn't been fully briefed either yet, as the mission is being planned and executed by a high level HPDMC clone who's hoping to clean this up before anyone pays it much mind.
