A buddy of mine bought a used trailer with a peppered front box, from road debris. He didn't seam to care so much. When I saw the eBAY pictures, I not only knew it would be functional, but it would also look pretty cool! |

The diamond plate I picked up from work. Plating covers from the bottom edge up to the first bend, just below the catch with padlock hasp. The plating is 1/8" and is in two seamed sections. (dividing behind the battery) After completing installation of the plates I taped then applied calking around perimeter edges. |

I used 22ea. ~2" long 10-24(thread count) flat-head stainless steal machine screws, inserted from the outside, that were set into "finishing washers" (a nice weight distributing washer). On the inside of the storage trunk I inserted "t-nuts" (also proper name) into pre-drilled holes to provide a sunken-insert type of nut. T-nuts protrude only about 1/16" above the wood surface. (this keeps things from hanging up on the nuts because the threaded part of the T-nut is below the interior surface) Finally, I painted two coats of "clear-coat" paint over the aluminum to preserve the polished surface. |

Because of the deal I received from work on the aluminum diamond plate, I didn't pay as much as I could have. After adding up all other above mentioned supplies, I spent ~$30- and love how it looks. |
