The Galt Area Swim Program (GASP) is a locally based swim team,
swimming in the town of Galt, CA. The Goal of our swim team is to promote amateur
athletics and competitive swimming for our youth ages 6-18.
GASP is comprised of swimmers living in Galt and its surrounding areas. Consisting of children from
various backgrounds and differing levels of ability, GASP competes in meets within the amateur sport
of swimming through USA Swimming. The USA Swimming program is strongly dedicated to instilling and
nurturing competition, at an individual level, within GASP'S various age groups. GASP'S dedicated coaching staff and their techniques are strongly based on encouraging the
continuation of swimming through learning and utilizing proper stroke technique with a positive goal
emphasis on:
- Dedication
- practicing on a regular basis
- Respect
- for coaches, parents, team members, other teams, and most importantly for themselves
- Workout
- doing what is asked of them in accordance with the coaching staff and their swim program
- Competition
- within the team and at various USA Swimming sanctioned swim meets
It is the coaching staff's goal to have each swimmer meet these positive goals and to develop some of their own. GASP believes that through the dedication of their coaching staff toward individual swimmers, their stroke technique, creating positive goals and the nurturing of competition within their team, any swimmer can participate, develop technique, practice, compete and successfully reach their individual goals within the amateur sport of USA Swimming.
