I am testing out going to a new blog that would be hosted on my own site.

The NCAAA tournament is now underway. To be honest, I did not follow any form of basketball this year. So I have no informed opinion on who will win.
But I am looking forward to baseball season. Baseball has been my only real profitable sport. I increased the size of my account by 350% last baseball season.

It's been a really long time since I posted last. It looks like I never returned from Christmas vacation. As near as I can determine the final record for the picks presented on this page were NCAA 30-32-2, NFL 13-10. That was a bad year for NCAA and a typical year in the NFL.
I guess a lot has happened since the New Year. My boss quit so I am more or less by myself now so I now have some responsibilities that I never particularly wanted. Sometime by summer I will likely be moving to an office in a different building.
If there are any senior statisticians out there reading this that are looking for a job let me know.
It has been a miserable winter, cold and snowy.
This year I will be taking a trip to the middle east. I will be spending a little time in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, and Cairo Egpyt. This will be in May so it will not be during football season this time.
I finally posted the prediction tracker awards for NCAA. I haven't started them for the NFL and can't say when or if I will. I could use a guest writer.

All of the bowl predictions are now in so it is time to make some picks.
These picks took a nose dive at the end of the season and some of these look a little iffy to me.
West Virginia +9, Oregon +6.5, Ohio St. +4, Illinois +14, Kansas +3.5, Missouri -3, Arizona St. +2.5

Want to know how all the coaches voted in their final poll, Look here
to see the ballots and how idiotic and biased some of them really are.

Last week the NCAA selections went 2-5 to drop one game below 500. I don't know that they have ever had a losing season before. And the NFL wasn't any better, a month ago the record was 10-4 now it stands at 10-9 after going three weeks without getting a game correct.
Season Totals: NCAA 25-26-2, NFL 10-9-1
This week:
NCAA: UCLA +20, Arizona St. -7, Missouri +3, Oregon +0
NFL: Tampa Bay +3.5, Atlanta +3 (perhaps the reason for the downfall is this late in the season the computers can't quickly adjust to injury situations like Garcia in Tampa Bay)

Here's an article that talks about the apparent viruses coming from banner ads.
