11:26 AM
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. It is relatively warm here in Texas compared to Chicago, it is generally in the 60's rather than the 20's or 30's.

I am glad that ncaa basketball took a 3 day holiday so that I could too.

Here are some NFL picks.
Jacksonville +3
Denver +6.5 (Green Bay being a 6.5 point favorite seems rather extreme to me)
San Francisco -0

Mery Christmas to everyone.

I am leaving Tuesday morning to spend Christmas with my family in Texas.
I am not going to promise to have any of the webpages up to date. I hope that I will be able to do the last week of the NFL while I am away but I can't guarantee it.

Here is an interesting story from ESPN. Titled Stats don't predict head to head outcomes.
I obviously do not agree with this guy. Basically it just sounds like they searched USC for somebody that would bash the system. Here is one quote by a USC professor: "Only by confronting predictions with outcomes can we hope to weed out the bad models and rankings."

Hopefully with 5 seasons worth of monitored computer pridictions they could learn something from my site.

It has been a really good week for getting things published. Here is another that I did the stat work for and has my plots/graphs in it. "Rate of cognitive decline and mortality in Alzheimer's disease", it is in the current issue of Neurology. This is a different paper from the one I mentioned last week.

3:33 PM
I found out that another paper that I worked on has been published.
"Early Life Conditions and Cognitive Functioning in Later Life" in American Journal of Epidemiology

1:22 PM
It is begining to be quite a task to keep up with pro football, IA college IAA college football and college basketball. I don't know where some of these guys find the time to do every sport imaginable.

My college picks are starting to win again. I was 3-1 this past weekend.
Results- NCAA: 43-38-1, NFL 18-19-3
Also my basketball picks have started out ok, 15-11.

The top 9 remain unchanged in my PerformanZ Ratings this week. ICompared to others I am still under ratings Ohio St. and Miami while over rating Kansas St. and Nebraska.
