The Division B Table Topics and Humorous Speech Contests were hosted by the West Hartford Toastmasters and held on October 11, 2007 at Hebrew Health Care, 1 Abrahms Blvd, West Hartford, CT

2006 - 2007 Distinguished Club Plan Results - President's Distinguished

The West Hartford Toastmasters Club finished the 2006-2007 Distinguished Club Plan Year as a President's Distinguished Toastmasters Club; completing 9 out of 10 goalsas set forth by Toastmasters International. The West Hartford Toastmasters will receive a blue ribbon for the club banner from TI WHQ and be recognized as a President's Distinguished Club.

Congratulations are extended to following members for earning their Competent Communicator Award (CC). The CC recognizes the completion of 10 speech projects in the Basic Communications manual.

Congratulations are extended to John Lynch, DTM for earning his Bronze and Gold Advanced Communicator Awards (AC). The ATM recognizes the completion of 10 speech projects in two Advanced Communications manuals.

2006 - 2007 Speech Contests

The Division B Tall Tales and International Speech Contests were held on April 12th at St. Paul Travelers Plaza Building in Hartford, CT. Congratulations to Joe Zafian, DTM for taking first place honors in the Tall Tales Speech Contest.

The Area B4 Tall Tales and International Speech Contests were held on April 3rd at Aetna, 151 Farmington Ave, Hartford, CT. Joe Zafian and Dane Silcox represented West Hartford Toastmasters Club in the Area B4 contests. The Tall Tales Speech Contest Results were:

  • 2nd place - Roger Gato, Aetna Toastmasters Club #3610

Fall 2006 Speech Contests

The Division B Evaluation and Humorous Speech Contests were held on October 23, 2006 at the L.P. Wilson Community Center in Windsor CT. The contest events were hosted by Windsor Toastmasters, Club 4745, with many Toastmasters in full Halloween costume.

The Area B4 Evaluation and Humorous Speech Contests were hosted by Stag Toastmasters and held on October 4, 2006 at The Hartford, Asylum St, Hartford, CT. Roger Brown represented West Hartford TM in the Humorous Speech Contest and Jerry Bloom represented our Club in the Evaluation Contest.

Fourteen (14) new Toastmasters joined the West Hartford Toastmasters Club during the year (July 1, '05 to June 30, '06) and at the end of the year there was 29 members in the Club.
