Table Topics Contest

After winning the Division B Table Topics Contest with a quick, enviromental based response to Arnold S becoming Governor of California, Dave traveled to Albany, NY on November 8, 2003 for the District 53 Table Topic Contest. The competition was keen. The TT question was a challenge - relate a personal experience where "adversity made you stronger." Dave drew upon the long hours of training for an Olympic medal in swimming and how he missed the initial competition by 6 inches. Yet, after a period of reflection; Dave became a stronger person.

2002 - 2003 Distinguished Club Plan Results - President's Distinguished

The West Hartford Toastmasters Club finished the 2002-2003 Distinguished Club Plan Year as a President's Distinguished Toastmasters Club; completing 9 out of 10 goals ( four CTMs, one ATM, two CLs, 11 new members, club officer training, per capita payments & club officer list submitted on time.) as set forth by Toastmasters International. The West Hartford Toastmasters will receive a blue ribbon for the club banner from TI WHQ and be recognized as a President's Distinguished Club.

Congratulations are extended to Michael Aron, Deb Grehn, Mark Bram and Karen Vincent for earning their Competent Toastmaster Award (CTM). The CTM recognizes the completion of 10 speech projects in the Basic Communications and Leadership manual. In addition, Deb and Karen received their Competent Leader Award.

Congratulations are extended to Roger Brown for earning his Advanced Toastmaster Award (ATM). The ATM recognizes the completion of 10 speech projects in two Advanced Communications and Leadership manuals.
