I. OWNERSHIP
1. The cost of a fantasy hockey team is $40.00 due the day of the draft.
II. DRAFTING
1. The draft will be held on October 10, 2005 at 6:30 PM.
2. The draft will consist of 18 rounds.
3. Draft positions will be determined at the draft.
4. The draft will flow from 1 to 9, then 9 to 1 for all 18 rounds.
5. You may select any positional player at anytime during the draft but be sure to select enough at each position.
6. Following the 18 rounds you may add 3 additional player to round out your roster to the maximum roster size of 21.
III. LEAGUE PLAY
1. Weekly competition begins on Monday, October 10, 2005.
2. Competitions begin on Mondays and go through Sundays.
3. Each owner must submit a lineup by faceoff of the first game on Mondays.
4. In the event that a lineup is not submitted by faceoff Monday, the previous week’s lineup will be used. You must, however, submit a team for Week 1. If you do not, you will not get credit for a team and will automatically lose your games for Week 1 since there is no way to revert back to a previous week
5. If you give me a lineup that does not fill every position, that position will be left open for that week. Make sure you have a total of 16 players in your lineup each week.
6. A weekly lineup consists of 3 centers, 3 left wings, 3 right wings, 4 defensemen, and 3 goaltenders.
7. Starting lineups will be posted on the website every Monday evening.
IV. TRADES
1. Trades may be made throughout the season at anytime during the week. However, players traded will not be switched to their new teams until the following week. (For example: If Tom trades Player A to Jeff for Player B during Week 2, the players will not be swapped until the start of Week 3.) If you make a trade and one of the players involved gets hurt, suspended, retires, etc. the trade is still valid and the trade will not be rescinded. Trade wisely.
2. The trade deadline is set for 9PM, Sunday, January 29, 2005.
3. You cannot trade with a team that is mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.
4. There is no cost for trades at anytime.
5. As soon as I get confirmation of a trade, I will email it to everyone. If I get a majority of emails back disputing the trade, the trade will be rescinded. There is no need to email me if there is no problem with the trade. After I send the email initially, there will be a 48-hour period where the trade may be questioned. Following those 48 hours the trade will be considered good or bad according the emails received.
6. Your roster can never exceed 21 players. If you make an outnumbered trade, you must drop the appropriate number of players to keep the limit to 21.
V. FREE AGENCY
1. There will be a free agent draft each week throughout the season and playoffs in which you can pick up ONE undrafted player. (ONE means ONE, so draft wisely and make your free agent pick a good one.) The order of drafting will go in reverse order of the previous week’s overall standings. (The first free agent draft will go in reverse order of the draft)
2. A roster can contain less than but no more than 21 players, thus if you draft a player in a free agent draft you must drop a player if your roster exceeds 21. DO NOT FORGET TO INCLUDE A PLAYER TO DROP IF NEED BE. Following WEEK 18 your roster can be expanded to 23 players.
3. There are no transaction fees for a free agent pickup during the season or playoffs.
4. If you do want someone in the free agent draft you must submit a list of players to me by Sunday, 9PM of each week. Your list should include all of the players you want in the draft. If your first pick is taken, then it moves to your second pick and so on. Submit a list long enough to fulfill your hopes of landing a free agent. If you fail to submit a list or your list gets depleted you must wait until everyone else has received their free agent pick to put your pick in again. This must be done by 3 PM Mondays. If you do get a free agent pick from your list, you cannot pick again or change your pick.
6. The free agent draft following Week 18 and through the playoffs will include only the playoff teams remaining and will be on a first come first served basis. Email me with your picks at anytime following WEEK 18.
VI. SCORING
1. Scoring will be based on a combination of rotisserie style and head to head style. Each week you will play every team in the league. CATEGORIES include: Goals, Assists, and Plus/Minus for Offencemen; Goals, Assists, and Plus/Minus for Defencemen; and Wins, GAA, and Save Percentage for Goalies.
2. Within each category, stats will be tabulated for each team each week. Depending on the the week, you will score a certain amount of points. Scoring will go like this: If you come in first place in a category, you get 8 points (based on a 8 team division), second place would get 7 etc. At the end of the week, after all categories are tabulated, the points are added up to result in a score. The team with the most points would come in first for the week, the second most in second place, etc. The first place team’s record for the week would be 7-0; the second place team would be 6-1 etc down to the last place team, which would be 0-7.
3.
You must have at least 90 minutes (1 1/2 games) of goaltender minutes to be eligible for the GAA and Save % category. If you don't you will get 1 point for both categories but will still get the correct amount points for wins depending on where you stand in the stats for that category.
