Computer Donations:
TGeek Computer Services takes pride in the fact that we donate working, used computers to those in need. We work with individuals and public schools to identify appropriate recipients. Computers are generally donated to school-aged children that do not have a computer at home. This is where we can use your help. We are always looking for computers for donation.
If you are in the greater Seattle/Everett area and would like to make a donation, please contact ted@tgeek.com.
Donated computers need to meet the criteria below.
- No more than 4 years old
- Is in working order
- Include a valid Microsoft Windows License Key (and original media if possible)
- Original Office Suite software is always appreciated
- Media containing original drivers are also appreciated
- Mouse and/or keyboard (for desktops)
- Desktops, Monitors (LCD & CRT) and Laptops are accepted
- No CRT monitors larger than 19” are accepted
TGeek Computer Services does the following with all donations received:
- All systems are cleaned inside and out
- All data is removed from the hard drive
- Windows operating system is installed and updated with all of the latest OS and security patches
- A burn-in test is performed to insure that all components in the computer are functioning properly
- Applications are installed:
- Adobe Reader, Flash and Shockwave
- AVG Free Anti-Virus
- Sun Microsystems Open Office
- Picasa Photo organizer (from Google)
- Any applications that are provided with the donated system
