Dragon Dreams' Dani, the Stitching Dragon - version 1

Stitched on 28 ct natural Quaker Cloth using Eterna Minitwist silks and Kreinik blending filaments and #4 braids. This was one of my entries for the original contest in 2004. I finished this as a wall hanging for my seasonal stitching exchange partner who lives in South Africa.

Dragon Dreams' Dani, the Stitching Dragon - version 2

Stitched on 28 ct. white opalescent lugana. This was one of my entries for the contest. The scales are beaded.

Dragon Dreams' Fairy Tale Sampler

Stitched on 28ct. jubilee, Southern Skies by Country Stitch (one of my favorite hand dyed colors). I finished this banner style using a dowel and wooden knobs I stained myself.

Chatelaine Designs' Indian Summer Reflections (former Mystery VI)

Stitched on 32 ct ice blue lugana. In the center I chose to stitch the over one leaves and vines, but I used the large leaf from the embelishment pack Martina makes available to the mystery participants. Otherwise, stitched as charted. This was my first Chatelaine mystery project, but it is certainly not my last!

Liz Turner Diehl's Japanese Garden

Stitched on 28ct natural Quaker Cloth. This is a gift for my mother who has a "thing" for oriental themes. I changed the beads to Mill Hill 557 (gold). This was a fun priject to stitch, and I learned several new stitches as well as a better method of working with rayon threads

Teresa Wentzler's Schoolhouse

Stitched on 32 ct. Belfast linen. I stitched this as a remembrance gift for my sister-in-law and brother-in-law who had to move out of their historic home (a former one room schoolhouse). The designer lives nearby, and I wondered if their home was one of those which gave her inspiration to design this piece.

Teresa Wentzler's Peacock Tapestry

Started November 1993, and finished April 2003. Stitched on 25 ct. mushroom evenweave (lugana, I think) from the kit. This was my first experience with evenweave and blended threads.

Chatelaine Designs Indian Summer Reflections (former Mystery VI) Framed

his picture shows how I framed MVI. The inner mat picks up the red shades. The outer mat is sueded and has a filet. I chose conservation glass because the area where it is displayed gets a lot of sun. All mats are acid free.

Mirabilia's Fairy Moon

Stitched on 28ct jubilee Evening Sky by Sugar Maple Fabrics. Started April 2003 and completed May 2005. Added blending filament to the wings and the moon. Changed wand to silver Treasure Braid. All skin stitched one over one.

Mirabilia's Fairy Moon framed

I chose a dark purple linen matt and a silver fillet and frame. I'm really pleased with how this turned out!

Chatelaine's Mini Mystery I

Started April 1, 2005 and completed June 29, 2005. Converted solid silks to Eterna Minitwist. All other materials as recommended (varigated silks, Delica beads, treasures, linen banding).

Dinky Dyes Designs Blackwork Ornament

Adapted as a square for a friendship quilt. Added tassles and signature. Stitched on 28 ct Silkweaver Solo using Dinky Dyes silk #40 Daydream.

Rachel's Bee Happy framed

My DD, Rachel, stitched this. It is her first cross stitch finish, and my first attempt to self frame (pinned and laced - used std frame - had matt custom cut). Bee Happy was stitched on 11 ct aida with DMC and a cute bee charm. Rachel did a great job!

Chatelaine's Stitchers Meeting Heirloom Pouch - pic 1

Stitched using all suggested materials (silks, linen banding, beads, crystals, gems, etc). Lined with silk. This was very fun! It is truly a heirloom piece.

Chatelaine Stitchers Meeting Heirloom Pouch - pic 2

Another view of this wonderful pouch made as a part of the meetings with Martina Weber in May 2005. I attended the Houston meeting.

Chatelaine Stitchers Meeting Heirloom Pouch - pic 3

The back view of this wonderful piece! Martina brough all these wonderful beads and such for us to use to embelish the pouch. It's hard to believe I made something so beautiful!!

Chatelaine's Stitchers Meeting Needlebook

This is the outside "cover" view of the needlebook. The design is a part of the meetings with Martina Weber in May 2005. The interior lining is an avocado green silk.

Chatelaine's Stitchers Meeting Needlebook view 2

This is the view of the inside. The linen is edged with colorful beading. I used bead flowers and leaves, too.

Patrica Ann Designs, Sapphire Star

From the 2004 JCS Ornament Issue. Stitched on 28ct white lugana. Subbed med. silver-lined, twisted bugles for the large white called for. Also, subbed crystal AB bicones for the rondelles called for. I like this so much I will probably stitch it again!

Christmas Jewels by Elizabeth's Designs

From the 2004 JCS Ornament Issue. A quick and fun stitch on 32ct Golden Harvest belfast linen by Silkweavers. I used three strands for the sheep's wool.

Sue Lentz' Midnight Christmas Forest

From the 2001 JCS Ornament Issue. Stitched on 28ct Southern Sky jubilee by Country Stitch using all recommended fibers and treasures. The fabric weave was not a good choice for the wide variety of fibers in this design. I found the fibers frayed easily. I love the finished design, though!
