How Mac Arrived
Soooo,
all is warm and fuzzy in our world. Mom and dad have just bought a new
house, which was picked with Harley and Indy in mind. The girls settle
into their new home quite easily and start clearing out the field mouse
population in the basement. One night mom and dad sat across from each
other watching TV, each with a cat warming their laps. Mom looked at dad
and said "could it get any better than this? Two humans, two
cats..." That's where I come in.....

How could they say no??? |
| Right after that wonderfully peaceful night in the new house, mom went to work one October morning. Everything looked normal, but she noticed co-workers giggling as she approached her office. When she walked in, she saw a cat carrier on her desk and heard tiny mews from inside. Someone who knew mom as a soft cat touch had left me, a feral barn kitten for her to fall in love with and give a home. No note, no clue who did it. Mom knew that dad had said no more cats unless it's male and sure enough, I had the right stuff. She e-mailed dad and said "guess what's sitting on my desk?". After explaining how I got there and telling him that other people wanted me if he didn't, dad's reply was "can't wait to get home and meet him". |

And I settled right in... |

Vets visits and medicine to make me healthy just wasn't enough torment, then I had to deal with two irate females!!! Now I'm the kind of guy that likes to be friends with everybody. That didn't work all that well in this house. Harley immediately put me in my place and continued to do so until I grew enough to whack back. Indy ignored me most of the time, except when I took her momma. Then she could get a little ugly. I sure did get smacked around a lot by my sisters, but in the end, they had to admit I wasn't all that bad. | |

Dreaming of a life without sisters... |

| About six months after I had settled in, I found an old knit ball that had come home from the humane society with Harley, years before. She hadn't wanted it and no one knows why it was actually moved into the new house. I always thought it was fate and that it was just waiting for my arrival. I bonded with that darned thing and started carrying it around like a security blanket. They started calling it my wooby. One day, mom came home from work and was saying hello to me and I gave her the wooby. For some strange reason, she pitched it into the dining room to see what I would do. Well, I just ran after it, picked it up and brought it right back to her. She couldn't believe it, so she threw it again. Off I went and brought it right back to her lap. The game went on for over 30 minutes and I was purring so loudly, I sounded like a motor. From then on, I have entertained many a guest at the house with my wooby ball. | ![]() |

And so here I am, all grown up
and I think I turned out pretty darned handsome. Most say I'm part Maine Coon Cat, though I am pretty small at nine pounds and
over five years old. My tail filled out quite nicely and I really appreciate the warm, dry home
that my humans have provided for me. I show my appreciation by posing for every picture that mom
wants to take of me, and there are MANY!!!
PS, mom eventually found out who left me on her desk and has thanked him every day since!
