The Rock

It is better to be a rock,

Than a human being.

Rocks do not feel pain

Rocks do not feel cold

Rocks do not feel alone.

Rocks do not dwell for a few decades

Before leaving nothing behind, but dust.

Rocks are forever,

Calm during wind, snow and rain,

Never feeling the loss of love

Nor even longing for it.

And even when they turn to dust

They just turn back into rocks again, never to feel.

It is better to be a rock.
