Morning light illuminates the leaves in this grove as
if they were transparencies. The dark background is a mountain that
the sun has just edged above. A hidden channel of water flowed
through the grove helping these aspens hold their leaves through a few
frosts. The shadow of the aspen in the forground fell upon the lenses of
the Realist stereo camera, preventing flare in this sunward shot. Fuji
Velvia (ISO 50) was the perfect film for the ambers and oranges that the
aspens offer. The shot was taken at f9 and 1/50 hand held.
