Cold White Water
rushes down the East side of the Sierra.  I once thought that changes in these rocks took a millenia, but I find that these cuts in granite show change after each large annual flow.  Some of the heavy snows of 20004/2005 remain here at 9,500 feet in June, but their melt water is rushing down the chute post haste!  The dance of the froth includes fracture into strings.  Viewing these will require zooming into the detail.
