Yesterday, we did a driving tour of Greene County, Tennessee (we
live in Oak Ridge, northwest of Knoxville). The driving tour itself
was disappointing, except for the fact that along the way, we
discovered a potential bike ride we didn't know about in the small
town of Tusculum, Tennessee (here's
a map).
The paved trail runs from a park near Tusculum College to the
intersection of Rheatown Road (actually named Edens Road on the street
signs) and McAfee Road, a distance of almost 3.75 miles.
There is a break in the trail at highway 107. The trail ends in a
tobacco field overlooking 107, then picks back up on the other side of
107 and a creek.
We walked about half the trail, from 107 to the end, and saw lovely
views of the Bald Mountains to the southeast.
Once we ride and assess it, I'll post a description of the trail on
our rides list.
