VIDEO TRADING LIST

My life is pretty hectic right now, you've probably read on my main page about the plans my wife and I have to adopt a child soon. I had a bad accident in September of 1999, breaking several bones in my leg and I still have occasional problems with it. This has definitely slowed me down a bit.

Anyway, I have the equipment to transfer foreign tapes to the NTSC system. I can also record in the PAL or SECAM system if you need to send anything overseas. Obviously, I do charge for this service, so please write or call if you need more information or details. More importantly since these web pages are global I can trade with you if you are reading this from another country and you have something on my want list.

To start, I trade in VHS and DVD-R only. I trade for equal time. I trade only in the SP speed. I send all tapes by FIRST CLASS MAIL or AIR MAIL overseas and I expect the same in return. If we are trading for the first time, I expect you to send the tapes to me first. I am reliable and usually return tapes within two weeks of receiving a package. Please read my Trader Guidelines for more details.

I use only name brand blank tapes, I generally use standard grade tapes, I usually use Maxell, TDK, Fuji, or SONY brands. I do NOT accept MEMOREX, GOLDSTAR, SAMSUNG, MGM, or any generic brand tapes under any circumstances. They will be returned to you if I receive them.

One other note about dubbing tapes, if you have tapes that include syndicated commercials from reruns, as I do, I will not edit them out when I make copies for you. I have many off air tapes of shows that include syndicated commercials that I will not edit out if you ask for them in trade. I realize that these can be annoying, but they are usually easy to fast forward through. It can be a hassle to do the editing, and I've noticed over the years that different people and equipment edit these commercials quite differently with varying results. I think everyone should edit to their own preferences and everyone will be happy.

Finally a note about quality. I want the best quality on everything just as anyone else would. This of course is not possible because of several variables, but mainly from quality loss from several generations of dubbing. I have tried whenever possible to make a note of items that would be particularly poor in quality and below most people's standards. I am sure I have missed some items. Since I now have well over 13,000 tapes, there are some that I have literally not watched in 10-15 years or more and I may have not properly noted the quality. I am willing to please and in most cases will gladly redo the tape with another program in place of what you may have considered sub-par quality. Please remember however that because of the rarity of many of the items, we often have to accept whatever we can get quality wise. If it's an old favorite, my motto is usually "Poor Quality is better than none at all." So, please be patient when I may have made a mistake. Should you note any problems on my list with titles, dates, times, etc.... Please let me know so that I can correct them. I appreciate any comments or criticism, good or bad about my tapes and my list. So, that's it for video. Let's start trading. I'm looking forward to it, my Want List can be found from the home page. Some abbreviations used on the video list are below:
