The presentation of this procedure, is not yet complete, but I'm working on it.

Below, is the carbureted engine, just before I pulled it out.

When I first got this van, even though the engine ran, it had a cylinder with very low compression.

I just so happened, to have kept the fuel injected engine from the '74 bus that I had totalled in my drinking days (praise Jesus, He has since set me free from that bondage!).

Fortunately, I stripped most all of the necessary parts off that old bus.

I mounted the resistor bank and relay set, on the wall to the fuel tank with tek (sheet metal) screws, which can be seen just above the ignition coil, in the picture below.

In the center of the same wall, I mounted the auxiliary air regulator, using an old gate hinge as a mount.

The air cleaner connected to the air flow meter, is supported with a 12 gauge electrical wire, hanging from an installed bracket.

I'll have to get pictures of the fuel pump mounting.

Since the fuel tank for a carbureted model lacks one port that a fuel injected model has, I used one of the two fuel vapor to canister ports, to return the fuel with, and connected both fuel vapor to canister lines (with a tee), to the other port.

Another possibility, is to simply connect the supply, and return fuel lines together into a tee, just below the fuel tank feed port, but I did not want to encounter any potential fuel starvation problems that may have resulted.

I also needed to cut open a place to mount the computer. Having fabricated a cardboard template, that was sized to just slip over the computer, I transfered the outline to the chassis just in front of the battery tray, with a marking pen. Using (with great care) my 4" Makita hand grinder fitted with cutoff wheels, I cut out the opening for the computer to slip into, as shown below. Then I installed the computer with 1/4" Tek screws, and sealed any gaps, with RTV silicone.

With only 12,000 miles on this 1800cc engine that had been rebuilt to a 2.0 liter, this old bus runs really well, glory to God!
