Slot Car Racers Alliance
VASCRA is made up of small group of enthusiasts from southwestern Pennsylvania and the northern West Virginia "panhandle" dedicated to the hobby of slot cars and model car racing. The club maintains a special interest in the vintage HO scale Thunderjet and AFX slot car lines produced by the Aurora Plastics Corporation from 1963 to 1979. Club members enjoy a scope of interest that spans most aspects of the slot car hobby including modeling, tuning, running and racing, collecting and, most importantly, having fun.

What: VASCRA Club Event
When: Saturday, February 19, 2005, 6:30 PM
Where: Joe’s Hobbies, Weirton, West Virginia
Join us on February 19th at Joe’s Hobbies in Weirton, West Virginia
for an evening centered on model car racing, collecting, and modeling.
We look forward to a great evening of conversation, friendly running,
a Thunderjet road race event, and some drag strip action.
Joe’s Hobbies features a 4x16 WizTrackz Road Racing Circuit
and 20' 7.5" Standard HODRA 1/64 Scale WizTrackz Drag Strip (Formica over MDF).


The road racing event will feature the VASCRA Super Stock/VHORS T-jet class.
Format will be timed heats with laps and sections.
Stock T-jet class and AFX runners will also be on track.
Plans also call for some informal drag racing with the following HODRA classes:
Factory Stock T-jet, Super Stock T-jet, and Factory Stock Inline.


The doors open at 6:30 PM.

This is an inventation only event
