Bainbridge Wins Hawaii Trip
Jim Bainbridge, a tour 3 steward at the Harrisburg P&DC, won the drawing for a trip to Hawaii, the grand prize in Local 308's 2009 Membership Drive.
During the drive, which was held Jan. 2-Feb 28, the Local gained 16 new members. That's an additional $8,736 in new membership dues a year.
"We welcome these new members into our union," says John Macey, president of Local 308. "I also want to thank everyone who participated in the drive."
To be eligible to win the trip to Hawaii, a member had to sign up at least three new members. The person who signed up the most new members from each facility was entered into the random drawing for the trip. There were four mail handlers who were eligible for the prize. They were: Jim Bainbridge, Harrisburg P&DC; Audra Dobyan, Lehigh Valley P&DC; Mike Rembelinsky, Philadelphia GPO; Martin D'Autrechy, Trenton P&DC
They will receive a $25 bounty for each new member they signed and an extra $100 for being the person from their facility who signed up the most new members.
Jim will accompany John Macey to the Semi-Annual Meeting of Local Unions (SAMLU), April 20-22, on the island of Oahu.
Congratulations, Jim. And aloha.
