Members-Only Meeting Set for June 2
The mail-handlers union plans to have a members-only meeting on Tuesday, June 2 - that's the day after the rescheduled Labor-Management Meeting. We're assuming that management will reveal what it's now planning regarding the reposting of bid jobs at that meeting. If that news comes sooner, we will reschedule the June 2 meeting.
The members-only meeting will be held at VFW Post 9563. It is located at 59 Essex Ave. in Bellmawr. NOTE: This is not the same VFW Post where we previously met. This one is just off of Creek Road and less than a mile from the plant.
The meeting will start at noontime and we will be serving pizza. We have rented the room for eight hours so mail handlers can come whenever it's most convenient for them. We'll order fresh pizza pies for delivery at 5 p.m.
Our plan is to follow up the June 2 members-only meeting with another meeting if and when management abolishes bid jobs. The second meeting would be to answer questions and to help members work through any material they are required to complete, such as possibly bidding for a new job.
