Now Anyone Can Bid on Tour 3 Level 5 Jobs

Management reversed its decision on who’s eligible to bid on Tour 3 level 5 jobs. Initially it said only Tour 3 level 5 mail handlers could bid on Tour 3 level 5 jobs. Now it says anyone eligible can bid on those jobs.

According to Bill Hanna, there will be no need to excess level 5 employees from Tour 3; therefore, that makes level 5 jobs open to everyone. He also says that Tour 1 mail handlers who recently won bid jobs and who would have bid on those Tour 3 jobs can do so now without using another bid.

The union, meanwhile, still disagrees with everything management has done relative to abolishing and reposting jobs. It has filed a grievance on behalf of every single mail handler and several class-action grievances. Those grievances have already gone up to Step 2.

Branch President Tony Branco gave an affidavit to the National Labor Relations Board on Tuesday, July 7, because he still had not received some of the information he requested on April 14, 2009, and again on May 6, 2009.
