Dockery Appointed QWL Coordinator

The mail-handlers union has appointed Ritchie Dockery, Tour 2 platform mail handler, as its new QWL coordinator. He replaces Frank Bolger.

The Quality of Work Life (QWL) program is a national effort between the mail-handlers union and Postal management. The program seeks to redesign work processes so they're better for workers and more efficient for managers.

Ritchie has been with the Postal Service since May 1985. He has been a union steward for the past 12 months but he also served as a steward in the 1980's. Now that he is assuming the coordinator's role, Ritchie is stepping down as a steward.

Ritchie says he plans to have at least one quality circle on each tour. He is looking to recruit members to join the circles.

You can reach Ritchie in the QWL office at ext. 4153.
