Use Common Sense to Protect Yourself

If you call out, be sure to write down the confirmation number.

If you receive any kind of discipline, give it to a union official immediately. The union has only 14 days to file a grievance, and we need time to collect information before meeting with your supervisor.

If you decide to handle your own grievance*, don't expect the union to work miracles if you incriminate yourself, or if you fail to get any agreement in writing.

*The contract states that employees can bring their own Step 1 grievances. The Weingarten Act states that employees who want the union's protection must ask for a steward. Management is not obligated to inform employees of that rule.
