From I-93 or (I-95 South from New Hampshire), pick up
Rte 128 North (also I-95 North) in
Continue on Rte 128 north toward
Note: watch exit numbers (which reverse after Rte 1)!
Take Exit 20A (Rte 1A North) in Beverly.
Stay on Rte 1A (heading north toward Ipswich) for approximately
3 miles.
Landmarks include the North Beverly shopping center, with a Shaws Market and Staples on the right,
In 1 mile on the left is a
MacDonald’s, then
At approximately 2 miles from Rte 128 on the left is a
classic
Continue on Rte 1A approximately another mile, through downtown
Note a Mobil gas station on the left, then a Gulf station as you cross RR tracks.
Patton Park is at the next intersection, bordered by Asbury Street and Bay Road (Rte 1A)--just after the Hamilton-Wenham Community House (brick building on the left, across the street from the Hamilton Fire and Police Station). The park is on the opposite corner and extends along Rte 1A.
Parking is available in 2 small designated lots at either end of the park, as well as across the street behind the police and fire station and Winthrop Elementary School.
*For those coming south on Rte 95 who would prefer to approach Hamilton by way of Ipswich, take the exit for Rte 133. When Rte 133 diverges left, south of Ipswich center, follow Rte 1A for approximately 4.5 miles. Patton Park will be on the right
