Learning of the furry subculture led me to the world of "fursuits", or full-body animal customes, or mascot costumes. Just for fun for Halloween, 1997, I decided to try and find a fox costume to wear. The best fox costume I could find to rent in time was a nice Silver Fox. 'Twas not a very toony character, but it was enough to entice me. After having much fun with the costume (and being mistaken as "Crunch", the Minnesota Timberwolves mascot) I started thinking about making my own fox costume.After visiting several web sites and reading about how other people have made their own costumes, I decided to make my own as well (with sewing help from my mother).
After that, I picked up a raccoon fursuit just for fun!
