Drawing themes from good old-fashioned gothic horror tales like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Dracula, and stories by Edgar Allan Poe, Grim Whimsy is a completely improvised show that is eerie, occasionally scary, and always funny.

Grim Whimsy scenes include villains, madmen and femme fatales and other characters created on the spot. In each show, improvised comic scenes are wrapped around a central fantastic evil or horror that is discovered by the improvisers in the very first scene.

Composer and guitarist Marq-Paul LaRose creates the show’s tense and gloomy atmosphere with an improvised score on his distorted electric guitar.
