About a year and a half ago, I asked Bob Stella to make a custom shield for my new N6A helmet.  I described to him what I wanted on it, and he went to work.  The shield arrived a few weeks later, and I was more than impressed!  Every single person who has seen it has commented on what a great job Bob did.  Bob's artistry and attention to detail is second to none.  He produces the absolute finest custom painted helmet shields I have ever seen. 

Over time, Bob's shield held up remarkably well to whatever I threw at it.  I wore it every single shift and I gave it no special treatment or care. It saw quite a few good structure fires without any real significant damage.  Recently however, my helmet was exposed to some intense heat in a few very hot, very smokey fires.  Unfortunately, my lid ended up getting pretty badly toasted.   

As a result, I have decided to replace both the helmet and the shield. I never thought twice about having anything other than one of Bob's custom shields on my new leather lid.  He made me another parade front shield with the same artwork as the original, except this time it is on silver leaf.  I will be very proud to wear Bob's new shield on my helmet, just as I was with the first one.
