The Sun is the center of the Solar system and is our star. Astronomically speaking, there is a lot that can be done to observe the sun. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO KNOW IS TO USE PROPER FILTERS WHEN OBSERVING THE SUN. The sun can be a very interesting or very dull depending on when and what equipment you use to observe it. In white light, the best time to observe the sun is during solar maximum. You will see all sorts of sunspots. During minimum, the sun may be blank for weeks or months. However, there are special telescopes now made to observe the sun in other wavelengths, which allow the observer to photograph and observe prominences and flares. I do not have such equipment so most of my imagery comes from white light photography.
