Ryobi battery charger woes

My Ryobi 18 volt battery pack charger recently stopped working. The LED lights don't come and it won't charge a dead battery. So I bought a new one at Home Depot, and I think it is also defective. My dad picked up another one for me, and that one seems to be working. I wonder if it is a known issue with these things? I have only had the Ryobi drill for about 4 years, and I don't use it very often, so it should have lasted much longer than that. Another example of crap made in China!
